Palermo Law, P.L.L.C., Overcoming Adversity Scholarship | 2017

Have you ever experienced a tribulation only you could overcome? Has adversity every taken place in your lifetime, forcing you to keep mentally rooted, take hold of your life and overcome that adversity? Palermo Law, P.L.L.C., is a Personal Injury Firm established in 1994 located in both Suffolk and Nassau County of Long Island, New York. We take every charitable opportunity we can to give back to our community, but we also believe in empowering the future.

Every individual faces a different path – some face continual trials and others face little-to-none. As long-time personal injury attorneys, we’ve witnessed individuals lose everything over trial and tribulation. We hold the belief that anyone who’s faced a truly difficult time period and maintained the strength to persevere deserves recognition. That’s why we’ve decided to create this scholarship. As a student, you essentially are the future, which requires strong personas – individuals who know how to overcome adversity. These are the types of individuals who will help shape a stable future. In knowing that, we believe these individuals deserve financial help when it comes to their undergraduate or graduate education.

For 2017, the scholarship will be for the amount of $1,500. The scholarship will be awarded to the student that best explains in 500 to 1,000 words a period in their life when they faced adversity and how they overcame that adversity. We plan on accepting applicant essays through June 15th of 2017. We will announce the recipient on July 1, 2017.

You must submit proof of enrollment for Fall of 2017 at a 2 to 4-year college, university, community college or graduate school prior to disbursement of scholarship funds should you win. Proof of enrollment can be as simple as a tuition bill or college schedule, but should you have trouble providing such proof, we’ll work with your financial aid office.
