Our 2016 Scholarship Winner

Congratulations to Our 2016 Winner of the Overcoming Adversity Scholarship

After careful deliberation, we’ve chosen Kristie Wood as the 2016 winner of the Overcoming Adversity Scholarship. She’ll be receiving $1,500 to help fund her studies. It was a difficult decision on our part. We viewed every essay writer as a winner; all faced some form of adversity and overcame it, however difficult it was.

We recognize that even though America is the land of the free, with equal opportunity for every citizen to pursue their dreams, that pursuit is not an easy task for everyone. As one of Long Island’s busiest Personal Injury Law firms, we help personal injury victims every day in overcoming adversity and rebuilding their futures. We understand how crippling adversity can be.

That’s why we’ve invested in this scholarship. Investing in this scholarship is a step toward investing in the future.

And we couldn’t be happier with our 2016 finalist, Kristie Wood. She took the life she was given and turned the fear of her adversity into ambition. She faced her own hardships head-on and rose up to pursue a career vested in helping others overcome adversity. We congratulate her for both her triumph over her adversities and winning our 2016 Overcoming Adversity Scholarship.

“My current goal is to have a facility in the future where I am the director. I look forward to running my program, helping people who are overcoming their personal adversity.
– Kristie Wood

To all those who submitted essays for the 2016 scholarship, we urge you to continue displaying strength and overcoming life’s adversities. We think you should submit another essay for a chance to be our 2017 Overcoming Adversity Scholarship winner. If you or someone you know has overcome personal adversity and is currently enrolled in a 2-4 year college/university, this scholarship could go a long way for them. 500-1,000 words could mean $1,500 toward college tuition.
